World Book Day

We had such a wonderful day learning about new people, facts and books.  The children’s enthusiasm for non-fiction books was amazing.  The teachers were very impressed with the children’s costumes and the children were quite surprised by some of the teachers’ creations.  Each teacher chose a class winner for the most creative costume or idea and the children voted for the best staff costume.

Some of our class winners.  The teachers had a tough choice to make.  Well done to everyone for putting in the effort!

Staff Costumes made us all giggle.

Best Staff Costume went to the exuberant Mrs Maudsley!

Even though everyone had fun dressing up, encouraging reading for pleasure is the most important part of World Book Day.

At St Bernadette’s we expect every child to spend 20 minutes per day reading or listening to someone read to them.

Every day is a book day!
